Vaccinating your children is safe and helps protect the community around you. Research proves that vaccines have prevented more than 2.5 million deaths each year. CDC claims that if we stopped vaccinating ourselves and our children, the few diseases and illnesses that we have in the United States could quickly become thousands. This study is significant. It emphasizes how poor our health could get in the United States, and the different types of illnesses that we could have in our country.
Some vaccines are not a hundred percent risk free, however there are many diseases that could be avoided with the support of specific vaccines. Between 1950 and 1960, there was a major outbreak of thousands of measle cases. This outbreak occurred before the measles vaccine was licensed in 1962. Once people got vaccinated with the measle vaccine, the number of cases of measles dropped significantly.
All vaccines have been tested through the food and drug administration (FDA). The FDA will not allow unsafe or unhealthy vaccines to be given to children and adults. Vaccines can not be licensed or used until they have gone through numerous tests in people. This evidence confirms that vaccines are safe, and must go through a series of different processes and test to be administered to adults and children.
There are many parents that vaccinate their children for their benefit and to keep them healthy, especially at a young age. My mom has kept all of my family up on immunizations to make sure we are protected from any bad diseases or illnesses. Not only is she protecting us, but she is protecting the community.
